Location of the municipality

Oron has been a municipality in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland since January 1, 2012 .

It emerged from the areas of the following municipalities: Bussigny-sur-Oron , Châtillens , Chesalles-sur-Oron , Ecoteaux , Oron-la-Ville , Oron-le-Châtel , Palézieux , Les Tavernes , Les Thioleyres and Vuibroye .

At the beginning of the project, the Maracon community was involved.
