history

The first written mention of the place took place in 1278 under the name Rubea aqua (red water). In the Middle Ages , when La Rogivue formed a community together with the neighboring La Rougève , a noble family is mentioned who took the name of the village. Around 1300 the village came under the rule of Bossonnen.

Only after the Reformation did the community separate. The Reformed part of the community came under the name La Rogivue to the Bernese bailiwick Oron , while the Catholic part (La Rougève) belonged to the canton of Friborg. After the collapse of the Ancien Régime , La Rogivue belonged to the canton of Léman from 1798 to 1803 during the Helvetic Republic , which then became part of the canton of Vaud when the mediation constitution came into force . In 1798 it was assigned to the Oron district. On January 1, 2003, La Rogivue joined the neighboring community of Maracon as part of a parish merger . The formerly also independent municipality of La Rougève was incorporated into Semsales in 1968 .
