Regina Lukk-Toompere (born August 23, 1953 in Konoscha , Arkhangelsk Oblast , Russian SFSR ) is an Estonian book illustrator.

Life

Regina Lukk-Toompere was born in Russia after her mother was deported to the interior of the Soviet Union during the Soviet occupation of Estonia . From 1955 to 1972 she lived in Tartu, Estonia . Her parents and teachers recognized her artistic talent early on.

In 1981 she graduated as a book designer and illustrator from the graphic department of the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (now the Estonian Art Academy ) in Tallinn . From 1981 to 1984 Regina Lukk-Toompere worked as an artist for the state production company Norma . She has been living as a freelance artist since 1984. She lives in the Estonian capital Tallinn.

Regina Lukk-Toompere has been a member of the Estonian Artists Association since 1988, and of the Estonian Graphic Designers Association since 1993.

Regina Lukk-Toompere has illustrated and designed over eighty books. In addition, she was involved in numerous Estonian cartoons. Her graphic work also includes posters, record sleeves, postcards and articles in magazines. Since 1988 her works have been shown in exhibitions in Estonia and abroad.

Her work has been awarded numerous prizes.
