Regina Sergeeva

Regina Sergeeva (born July 2, 1994 in Sigmaringen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German rhythmic gymnast .

Life

Regina Sergeeva trains at the DTB National Team Center Fellbach-Schmiden (Federal Center for Rhythmic Gymnastics and Sports Boarding School ) and lives in Fellbach . The student starts for TSG Söflingen and is trained by Natalia Stsiapanava, Ekaterina Kotelikova and Vladimir Komkov. Her special device is the ball. Sergeeva grew up in Ulm and learned her sport at her home club, TSG Söflingen. At first she was mainly active as an individual gymnast and as a national highlight she reached the runner-up in the junior women's ball championship. She was also active as a group gymnast and was one of the national leaders with the schoolgirls group of the Swabian Gymnastics Federation. A first international highlight was the 2009 European Junior Championships in Baku , where she finished ninth with the German team. In 2010 she moved seamlessly to senior women.

The European championships in Bremen in spring 2010 were Sergeeva's first international championships for women. With Cathrin Puhl , Camilla Pfeffer , Sara Radman , Karolina Raskina and Mira Bimperling , she only missed a medal by one place in the team competition, finishing fourth behind Russia, Italy and Belarus. With Pfeffer, Puhl, Radmann and Bimperling, she also came fourth in the first and second device groups. In autumn of that year, the World Championships in Moscow followed , at which Sergeeva finished eighth with Pfeffer, Puhl Radman and Bimperling in the team and fifth in the first and second equipment groups with the same line-up. At the world championships a year later in Montpellier , she achieved sixth place in the all- around group with Pfeffer, Puhl, Nicole Müller , Radman and Bimperling, as well as seventh in the first and fifth in the second equipment group. With sixth place, the team qualified directly for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . Shortly before the games, however, she retired from the squad due to an injury.
