Regine Dapra

Regine Dapra (born February 2, 1929 in Bad Hofgastein ; † April 25, 2012 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian painter and author.

Life

Regina Dapra grew up in the city of Salzburg. Until 1945 she attended elementary school and high school. From 1945 to 1949 she studied music (piano) at the Mozarteum Academy of Music. From 1949 to 1951 she attended the master class at the Vienna Music Academy. Until 1959 she was a musician and singer in Germany and Switzerland. In 1960 she married and returned to Salzburg. She has been a painter since 1963. From 1964 she took part in exhibitions in many European and American countries. In 1969 their first son, David, was born. She has been committed to environmental protection since the mid-1970s. In 1982 she co-founded and was the head of the “Initiative against Animal Experiments”. From 1989 turned intensely to energetic activities. (including Reiki 1994, Pranic Healing 1995, Qi Gong 1996, "The New Light Body" since 1998)

She began naive painting in the 1960s. She has been exhibiting since 1964. Her style is also known as "poetic realism". She herself said about her art: "I try to reconcile people with nature and animals with my painting."

Author

Regine Dapra wrote the book “I live with osteoporosis. An experience report ". In this book she describes her experiences with the disease and how she has helped herself out of the deepest depression: Through specific physical exercises and a special diet, she has managed to lead a normal and relative life with the disease Regain wellbeing without taking medication.

  • 1974: 1st prize of the 8th international foreign traffic poster exhibition, Catania / Italy, for 3 posters, painted for the regional transport office, Salzburg.
  • 1974: Special prize at the Prix Pro Arte, Morges / Switzerland.
  • 1976: Diploma Prix Pro Arte, Switzerland
  • 1977: 1st Bologna graphic artist prize
  • 1984: Silver medal of merit from the State of Salzburg for complete works.
