Region of Vorderpfalz

The Vorderpfalz region was a planning region in Rhineland-Palatinate that was set up under the 1968 Regional Law . It went on in 1977 in the Rheinpfalz region . It consisted of the districts of Frankenthal (Pfalz) , Ludwigshafen , Neustadt and Speyer , as well as the independent cities Frankenthal (Pfalz) , Ludwigshafen am Rhein , Neustadt an der Weinstrasse and Speyer . On June 7, 1969, the new Bad Dürkheim district was created, replacing the Neustadt and Frankenthal (Pfalz) districts, and the Speyer district was added to the Ludwigshafen district.
