Regions of Guinea

The West African state of Guinea is divided into seven regions (French: Gouvernorats ) and a zone spéciale around the capital, each headed by a governor . The regions in turn are divided into 33 prefectures and 341 sub-prefectures . The regions named after their capitals are called:

• Boké
• Conakry (zone special)
• Faranah
• Kankan
• Kindia
• Labé
• Mamou
• Nzérékoré
