Regis Records (jazz label)

Regis Records was an American jazz label from the 1940s.

The Regis Record Company (162 Prince Street, Newark, New Jersey) was one of the companies owned by producer and nightclub owner Irving Berman , who also ran the Monor Records label around 1945 . The record label, which existed between 1943 and 1946, released recordings by Gene Phipps, Hal Mitchell, Tiny Bradshaw , Tab Smith , Sidney Catlett , Benny Carter (under the pseudonym Timmie Rogers ) and the Coleman Hawkins Septet (with Charlie Shavers , Edmond Hall , Clyde Hart , Tiny Grimes , Oscar Pettiford and Denzil Best ), as well as gospel songs by Sister Ernestine Washington .
