Clyde Hart (musician)
Clyde Hart (* 24. February 1910 in Baltimore , † 19th March 1945 in New York City ) was an American jazz - pianist , of the Modern Jazz prepared on the piano.
Live and act
Clyde Hart came to Kansas City in 1930 with Jap Allen and a few years later to New York , where he worked with Stuff Smith from 1937, with Roy Eldridge 1939-1940, Lucky Millinder 1941, with John Kirby 1942/43, with Billy Eckstine in the summer of 1944 and Oscar Pettiford played in late 1944. He died of tuberculosis before he could make an adequate contribution to the development of bebop commensurate with his rank. Clyde was at times in demand as a musician for studio recordings: he can be heard on records with Ben Webster , Coleman Hawkins , Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker , with Lionel Hampton , Rubberlegs Williams , Henry Allen , Chu Berry , Don Byas , Cozy Cole , Tiny Grimes, among others , Billie Holiday , John Kirby, Hot Lips Page , Stuff Smith and Trummy Young .
Hart arranged the title In The Bag for Lionel Hampton in 1942 and recorded records under his own name between 1944 and 1945, including with Byas, Parker and Gillespie for Continental . He was one of the first pianists to play with the bebop musicians and is particularly remembered for his involvement in Charlie Parker's first recordings.
