Empire of Metz
The empire of Metz was a successor empire of the Salfränkischen empire and the forerunner of Austrasien . The first king was Theuderic I , a son of King Clovis .
The kingdom of Metz existed from 511 to 584. It is named after its capital Metz (the late Roman Divodorum Mediomatricum ), although in the first few years Reims , at that time the Civitas Remorum , was probably the leading capital. The rulers of the empire all carried the title of king .
