The Reichenwaldhöhle (also Reichenwalderhöhle , cadastral number 1826/2) is a cave in the Reichenwaldberg near Opponitz .

The total of 510 meters long cave was created on the border between the Opponitz Kalk and the Lunzer layers and is probably a crevice parallel to the slope. An approx. 50 meter long corridor leads into a fall chamber, from which a side corridor branches off, possibly related to the Stefaniehöhe (1826/3). A 30 meter long corridor leads from the fall chamber into the large “end chamber”, from which an approx. 100 meter long corridor continues into the “Refugium”. Since the clay in the cave is also severed, the strain can be viewed as younger than the last phase of water activity.

The declaration of a natural monument was made by decision of April 5, 1963, ZI. 2346/63 of the Federal Monuments Office .
