Imperial Oak

Wennigsen oak

As Reich oak called English oak is a natural monument in the town of Wennigsen (Deister) . It bears the monument number ND-H 153 of the Hanover region . It is said to have been planted in the middle of the 18th century. In memory of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Empire in 1871 , it was placed under official protection in 1896.

The protection purpose is stated: The tall old oak on a forest path is unique in the forest area . It is located in the Deister south of the Waldkater district, around 50 meters east of the Pfingstangerweg.
