At the time of National Socialism , the Reich Cabinet Council headed a department of the Reich Chancellery .

In order to maintain his competences vis-à-vis the Munich- based staff of the Deputy Leader (from 1941: Party Chancellery) and the State and Reich Commissioners , Hans Heinrich Lammers implemented organizational changes in the Reich Chancellery in 1937: The boss became Minister of State , the level of State Secretary has been received. The sections were bundled and assigned to three departments, each headed by a Reich Cabinet Council.
