Imperial School of the Netherlands

The Reich School of the Netherlands was founded in Valkenburg aan de Geul in 1942 during the German occupation of the Netherlands . Organizationally and in terms of its objectives, this Reichsschule was on an equal footing with the National Political Educational Institutions (NPEA) of the German Reich . It was housed in the buildings of the theological faculty of the Jesuits in Valkenburg and was primarily intended for the German boys living in the Netherlands, but was also open to the male children of the Dutch National Socialists (NSB). The uniforms corresponded to those of the NPEA but also had the sleeve stripes with the inscription "Reichsschule der Netherlands". In the late summer of 1944, after the start of the invasion of Normandy , the school in Valkenburg was closed and initially quartered in the NPEA Bensberg at Schloss Bensberg and later in the NPEA Naumburg / Saale .

As with the Napola, training was geared towards the next generation of leadership and officers, especially the Waffen SS .

A boarding school for girls was also set up in Heythuysen in the province of Limburg .
