Reif Larsen (born 1980 in Cambridge, Massachusetts ) is an American author .

Life

Larsen studied Creative Writing at Columbia University, where he now teaches. While still a student, he wrote his first novel " The Map of My Dreams " (original title: The Selected Works of TS Spivet), which - according to the publisher - was published in 30 countries in 2009. The book is about a twelve-year-old cartographer from Montana , the plot is enriched with extensive illustrations, maps and diagrams. In the US, numerous publishers fought for the rights to the book, which was worth an advance of $ 900,000 to them. Larsen also made documentaries . The author lives in Brooklyn , New York.
