Reinhard Süring badge
The Reinhard Süring plaque is a science award from the German Meteorological Society . It is awarded to personalities who have made outstanding scientific or organizational services to the goals of DMG (or its predecessor companies). A simultaneous award to several personalities is permitted.
The plaque commemorates Reinhard Süring , one of the most important meteorologists in the first half of the 20th century. It was first awarded in 1967 by the Meteorological Society of the GDR .
Well-known award winners are Hans Ertel (1969), Karl-Heinz Bernhardt (1978 and 1989), Günter Skeib (1984), Wolfgang Böhme (1986), Christian-Dietrich Schönwiese (2007), Cornelia Lüdecke (2010), Hartmut Graßl (2010) , Hans von Storch (2015) and Wilhelm Kuttler (2016).
