Reinhard Koch (basketball player)

Reinhard Koch (born November 11,  1960 ) is a former Austrian basketball player and official as well as an entrepreneur.

career

During his playing career, Koch played basketball in Güssing, Mattersburg, Klosterneuburg and Fürstenfeld. With Klosterneuburg, the 2.04 meter tall indoor player was twice national champion. Between 1985 and 1992 he played international matches for Austria's national team.

Professionally, Koch was particularly active in the energy sector. He founded several companies, was involved in others as a partner and / or worked as a managing director: Among other things, he managed the business of ökoStadt Güssing Sport GmbH, the operator of the Güssing Knights, and was chairman of the team for 2014 and 2015 (i.e. during his tenure) became an Austrian basketball champion. At the end of March 2016, bankruptcy proceedings were initiated at the Eisenstadt regional court over Koch's assets and ökoStadt Güssing Sport GmbH. At the beginning of April 2016, the Knights' Bundesliga license was withdrawn with immediate effect, which meant the team was shut down. In autumn 2016 he retired from the economic life in Güssing, which he had shaped in the previous decades by setting up the biomass center, among other things, and set up his professional tents in Strem . The regional court had accepted Koch's information according to his restructuring plan.
