Reinhard Morgenstern (physicist)

Reinhard Morgenstern (born March 10, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German physicist.

Life

Morgenstern studied in Freiburg im Breisgau from 1962 . In 1971 he received his doctorate with a thesis on "Ionization processes in the slow collision of heavy particles". This was followed by a two-year stay at the Stanford Research Institute in California.

He worked at the Hahn Meitner Institute in Berlin and at the Catholic University of Leuven . From 1986 he was a university professor at the Nuclear Physics Accelerator Institute KVI at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen . In 2006 he was appointed Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau .

Morgenstern has been the mayor of Jechtingen-Sasbach on a voluntary basis since 2009 .
