União da Vitória , officially Município de União da Vitória , is a city in the south of the state of Paraná in Brazil . It is located on the Iguaçu directly on the border with the state of Santa Catarina and forms the so-called "Gêmeas do Iguaçu" (Iguaçu twins) with the sister city of Porto União opposite . The city is best known for its timber industry and the many waterfalls in the region.

According to the 2010 census, the population was 52,735 people, who are called União-Vitorienser. On July 1, 2013, the IBGE statistical office estimated the population to be 55,467. The distance to the capital Curitiba is 243 km.

Pedro Ivo Iliv ( PT ) is the city prefect for the 2013 to 2016 term of office .
