Reinhard Resch (lawyer)

Reinhard Resch (born May 15, 1966 in Linz , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian lawyer and professor at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz .

Life

Resch studied law at the JKU Linz , where he received his doctorate in 1990 . From 1987 he was an assistant at the Institute for University Law and from 1989 at the Institute for Labor Law and Social Law. 1997 got Resch teaching qualification as a university lecturer for civil law , labor law and social law awarded (supervisor of the thesis was Peter Jabornegg ) and became associate professor . In the following years he also worked at the University of Klagenfurt as a visiting professor and university professor with interruptions until 2007. He was visiting professor at the University of Glasgow (February 2000), at Trinity College Dublin (spring 2002 and 2006), at the University of Erlangen (winter semester 2006/2007) and at the University of Hamburg (summer semester 2008).

Since 1998, Resch has been the director of the biannual practitioner seminars on labor and social law at the University of Klagenfurt , which are held together with the Carinthian Chamber of Labor and whose scientific results are published in the "Schriften zum Arbeitsrecht und Sozialrecht" (ÖGB Verlag). He is also a co-organizer of the "German-Austrian Social Law Talks" with a focus on health insurance law, which have been held annually at the universities of Linz and Passau alternately since 1999. The scientific results are published annually in an anthology (Manz Verlag). He is co-editor of the "Journal for European Labor Law and Social Law" (Erich Schmidt Verlag Berlin), Austria correspondent of the journal "Sport und Recht" (Beck Verlag Munich) and since 2009 member of the editorial team of the journal "Law of Medicine" (Manz Verlag Vienna) .

Since 2007 Resch has been a member of the course management of the postgraduate master’s course in Medical Law, since 2008 co-organizer of the annual Gmunden Medical Law Congress and is a member of the board of the Local Science Society.

In 2009, Resch was appointed university professor for medical law , labor law and social law at the JKU and has since been chairman of the newly founded institute for the law of general interest and medical law.

Since 1984 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KÖStV Severina Linz in the ÖCV .
