Live and act

The son of Reinhard von Moirke, the elder , first drew attention to himself when he joined the besiegers in 1385 with the Aachen lay judges Konrad and Johann von Pont , Arnold Volmer as well as Heinrich and Johann Bertolf as part of a mission of the Maas-Rhein peace alliance the Burg Reifferscheid belonged. The alliance accused Johann V. von Reifferscheid of numerous raids in the near and far area and breaches of the peace. The siege itself was initially unsuccessful and the Alliance troops withdrew after three months of unsuccessful things. Nevertheless, Johann V. von Reifferscheid could be committed to an eight-year peace treaty.

Four years later, in 1389, von Moirke was elected mayor of the Free Imperial City of Aachen for the first time . After he was accepted into the college of aldermen in 1391, he again held the highest office of the city in 1392, 1396, 1400, 1408 and 1412, this time as aldermen-mayor. Moirke could not finish his last term of office because he died on September 1st, 1412. The office was then taken over by one of the so-called stale mayors for the rest of the term.

Reinhard von Moirke was married to Belge Volmer, a sister of the mayor Arnold Volmer .
