Lòdano is a former political municipality in the Maggia district, in the Vallemaggia district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

The place is at an altitude of 345 m above sea level. M on the right bank of the Maggia river about 25 km north of Locarno and is now part of the municipality of Maggia , which was founded in April 2004 .

history

The village is first mentioned in 1260 under the then name Lodino then Lodeno 1403, Ladino 1591, Lodine 1689. In the 15th century the village formed a single vicinia with Moghegno . At the beginning of the 15th century it took part in the battles of the lower Maggia valley against Cevio and Bosco / Gurin , which were ended by the peace of 1404. In 1484, when the Valais invaded the Ossola Valley , it sent soldiers to guard the mountain passes of the Maggia Valley. Under Swiss rule, Lodano sent a delegate to the General Council, formed an independent community and had 5 soldiers to provide (1689).
