Reinhardt Kristensen

Reinhardt Møbjerg Kristensen (born December 6, 1948 ) is a Danish biologist . Kristensen studied since 1968 at the University of Aarhus (until 1971) and at the University of Copenhagen (until 1976). He received his PhD in 1979 . Since 1983 he has been a professor at the University of Copenhagen (until 1988 as junior professor ). Since 2002 he has been a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences .

Kristensen discovered three new animal phyla : 1983 the Loricifera , 1995 the Cycliophora and 2000 the Micrognathozoa . Currently (2005) there are only 20-30 phyla in the entire animal kingdom, depending on the taxonomy .
