His easy canon children's cantata "The Four Seasons" is an introduction to polyphonic choral singing. His work is also characterized by a large number of compositions for mixed children's choir, in particular his arrangements of the choral settings of the old masters for children's choirs of equal voices.

"What an excellent sound culture the two directors Werner Dienemann and Reinhardt Syhre have already brought the children's choir to, was demonstrated by the festive concert in Leipzig's Old Town Hall"

- New magazine for music

“The second part of the program was the performance of the most famous Christmas carols in polyphonic, sometimes very beautiful arrangements. The sentences of Reinhardt Syhre, founder of the "Schola Cantorum" at the time, should be mentioned here. "
