Reinhildis fountain

The Reinhildis fountain is located at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Kalixtus in Riesenbeck in the Tecklenburger Land . The fountain, built in 1912, commemorates the local saint Reinhild von Riesenbeck , also St. Reinhildis or in Riesenbeck mostly known as Sünte Rendel.

The stone reliefs show events surrounding the legend. During renovation work, a brass plate with an inscription was found: "Erected in July 1912, this Reinhildis fountain is a foundation of Mr. J. Hötte from Münster". Josef Hötte was a wealthy merchant and patron in Münster .
