Reinhold Friedrich von der Osten-Sacken

Reinhold Friedrich Freiherr von der Osten-Sacken (born August 1, 1792 in Lösern in Livonia , † June 25, 1864 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian, Baltic German ministerial official.

Life

His parents were Guard Captain-Lieutenant Reinhold Friedrich von der Osten-Sacken and his wife Juliane Margaretha von Funcken from the house of Lösern.

Reinhold Friedrich von der Osten-Sacken began studying law at the Georg-August University at the age of 16 , where he became a member of Curonia Goettingensis in 1808 . After graduating, he entered the service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1813. After working as a secretary in London and Copenhagen, he became a personal assistant to Foreign Minister Karl Robert von Nesselrode . From 1835 to 1863 he was senior ministerial advisor. In 1840 he was appointed to the Privy Council. In 1863 he became a member of the Council of Ministers and was appointed Real Secret Council.

He married on November 3, 1827 in St. Petersburg Elisabeth von Engelhardt (* June 4, 1805, † February 11, 1873), a daughter of the educator and statesman Georg von Engelhardt .
