Reinold Louis (born May 6, 1940 in Cologne ( Vringsveedel )) is a German author and connoisseur of Cologne customs.

biography

Reinold Louis was born in Severinsviertel and grew up in Bickendorf . First he attended the elementary school Loreleystraße and later the advanced secondary school Frankstraße. He trained as a savings bank economist and worked for Kreissparkasse Cologne for over 40 years .

During these years Louis took over the management of several cultural foundations of the Kreissparkasse Köln: the Kölner Kulturstiftung, Kulturstiftung Oberberg, the Kulturstiftung Burscheid, the Sozialstiftung and the Sportstiftung. From 1991 to 2016 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (1991–2016) of the Trips Foundation - he was then appointed honorary chairman - and wrote a biography of the racing driver Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips.

Louis is a local historian, WDR -Radio- and TV presenter, commentator and companion of Rosenmontagszugs , author of radio plays and features to predominantly stadtkölnischen issues. He wrote around 15 books; In 2000 he was awarded the Cologne Literature Prize.

To commemorate the end of the war in 1945, Reinold wrote in 1995 (for the 50th) and moderated his multimedia journey through time entitled usjebomb & opjebaut , repeatedly in 2005 (for the 60th) and in May 2015 (for the 70th), with the Cologne dialect group Bläck Fööss in the Cologne Flora .
