Travel time (technology)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the case of technical systems, travel time is the period between planned shutdowns.

Definitions

The travel time or gross travel time is defined as the time between the start of starting up and the end of shutting down a system. Deviating from this, the net travel time is the time in which control values are adhered to, as start-up or shutdown processes can lead to their violation. This results in the net operating time, which is the sum of all net travel times.

In certain cases, the travel time is considered uninterrupted if an agreed short-term standstill occurs.
