Uždaroji akcinė bendrovė Reitan Convenience Lithuania (formerly Lietuvos spauda ) is the oldest and largest (in terms of number of employees and sales outlets) press distribution organization ( company ) with 255 kiosks ("Lietuvos spauda" and " R-kiosk ") in Lithuania . In 2011 it employed almost 800 people.
history
In 1944 the republic department for distribution and forwarding of the press ( Respublikinis spaudos platinimo ir ekspedijavimo skyrius ) was founded. In 1989 the company became Lietuvos spauda (German: "Lithuanian Press"). In 2004 it had over 600 kiosks. In 2005 the seven subsidiaries were implemented in the company during the reorganization. Business administration, logistics and service were concentrated in Vilnius .
In 2005 the Finnish company Rautakirja , a member of Sanoma, acquired the company. In 2007 it employed 930 people, including 840 sellers. In 2008 it achieved sales of 240 million litas and had 52 million buyers, and sold 500 different press publications (publications).
In 2012 the UAB “Lietuvos spauda” Vilniaus agentūra was sold to Reitan Servicehandel AS ( Norway ). On November 27, 2012, the company became UAB Reitan Convenience Lithuania .
