Equestrian statue of the Heroes of the War of Liberation of the Ukrainian People 1648–1654

The "equestrian statue of the hero of the liberation war of the Ukrainian people 1648-1654" ( Ukrainian Героям визвольної війни українського народу 1648-1654 років ) is an equestrian statue and symbol of the city Zhovti Vody in Ukraine .

The group of sculptures in the Ehrenpark , the central park of the city, depicts the three Zaporozhian Cossacks Maksym Krywonis , Bohdan Khmelnyzkyj and Ivan Bohun , who led the Khmelnyzkyj uprising against the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania . The first battle of this uprising, which took place from 1648 to 1654 and was known as the "War of Liberation of the Ukrainian People", took place at Shovti Vody.

The sculptors of the statue, which was inaugurated in summer 1998, were Anatolij Juchymowytsch Bilostozkyj and OO Suprun. The architect was Wassyl Heorhijowytsch Hnjesdylow. The total height of the monument is 11.5 meters.

The monument plays an important role in the cityscape and is a popular photo opportunity. Newly wed couples come here from the nearby registry office in the “Palace of Culture” and have their photos taken in front of the “Monument to the Three Horses”, as the sculpture group is popularly known, and flowers to lay down at his feet.
