Relatives Mensch sein was a German band from Kaufbeuren in the Allgäu , which is attributed to the Dark Wave movement. It was created in 1990 as a merger of the musicians Amadeus, Lissy Mödl and Jörg Wolfgram (alias "Jogy") and became known in the black scene mainly because of its poetic and atmospheric vocal pieces in German . Relative humanity are considered to be an important and at the same time the earliest representative of the New German Art of Death .

history

Before the founding, Lissy Mödl and Amadeus formed the band Predecease , which only achieved local fame. In June 1990 they teamed up with keyboardist Jörg Wolfgram, who was previously active in the band Shades of Gray , and together they formed the band Relatives Mensch sein .

Already the first pieces of the new band became hits in the black scene due to their unique mixture of music and poetry . The songs Tempel , Glaube and especially Verflucht developed into scene hits that are played to this day and earned them a record deal with the production company Danse Macabre . A music cassette with only four songs was released on this label under the title Moritat . With the first major concert on January 4, 1992 in Ulm , a tour started that made the band known in Germany, Belgium and Switzerland.

In July 1992 the EP Gefallene Engel was released , and in August the trio was supported by keyboardist Jörg Hüttner. Then in June 1993 the first and only album Die Ewigkeit was released , on which guitarist “Thar” (among other things, active for Ghosting ) participated. After this release Jörg Wolfgram left Relative Humanity and switched to the band Dorsetshire . The record label Danse Macabre announced that no further album will be released. It was then that Andy Age came to Relative Humanity as a guitarist. As a result, the band only released individual songs on various CD compilations and played live. The last appearance took place in 1999, when Amadeus gave away his stage clothes and thus unofficially dissolved the band. The band explains to this day that a breakup was never official:

“We never officially broke up, but 1999 was the last appearance where Wolfi, as agreed, gave away his stage clothes. And that was over. "
