Reluctant Island

Reluctant Island (from English reluctant , reluctant, reluctant, hesitant ' ) is a small island off the Fallières coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . In Square Bay it is located in front of the northeastern extension of Horseshoe Island .

The island owes its name to the fact that it was not recognized as such for a long time. It is not listed in the maps of this area, which were created in the course of the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill . Scientists of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey believed it to be a peninsula after measurements between 1948 and 1950 .
