Remembrance is a French funeral doom metal band. The founders Matthieu Sachs and Carline Van Roos are also founders and members of the band Lethian Dreams .

history

Remembrance was founded in June 2004 by Matthieu Sachs and Carline Van Roos. The band's first recording was the Demo Among Lost Illusions , which was recorded and produced in March 2005.

A short time later, Remembrance began to write new songs and signed a contract with the Total Rust Music label. The first album Frail Visions was released in September 2005.

In October 2007, the Finnish label Firebox Remembrance signed. The second album, Silencing the Moments , whose recordings began in the summer of 2007, was released in April 2008. In contrast to the first album, it had a better production quality.

In June 2009, Norman Müller joined the band and replaced the drum computer that had been used until then . In this compilation, the band began work on their third album. Fall, Obsidian Night was released in 2010.

style

Remembrance's music can be described as slow but atmospheric. The band combines the deep death grunts of Matthieu Sachs with the clear vocals of Carline Van Roos, whereby the male vocals dominate.
