Remo Murer

Remo Murer (born April 3, 1979 ) is a former Swiss gymnastics athlete and the only man who practiced this sport as a competitive sport. He is a six-time Swiss master in gymnastics, a modification of the Olympic discipline rhythmic gymnastics .

Murer comes from a family of gymnasts. He started doing gymnastics in 1992 in the girls' squad . In the following year he was cantonal champion and received the highest grade of 10.0 for the first time. After several championships in the youth field, he won the senior title in 1999. In 2000 he again achieved a grade of 10.0 at the Swiss Championships. He represented Switzerland at the World Gymnaestrada in Gothenburg , Lisbon and Dornbirn, among others .

In addition to his sports career, Murer works as a choreographer and technical director of gym dance groups. Among other things, he choreographed the opening ceremony of the Junior Handball World Championship in Aarau in 2002 . In 2007 he finished his career in individual competitions with a second place at the Swiss championship in Frauenfeld .

He is also known for his self-made gymnastic suits, which he always adapts to the corresponding choreography.

He has been the technical director of DTV Muhen since 1994.
