René Brodmann (born October 25, 1933 in Ettingen ; † 2000 ) was a Swiss football player and coach.

Football career

Brodmann was a football player at Grasshopper Club Zurich (1958–1961) and FC Zurich (1962–1967, Swiss champion 1963). He was also a member of the Swiss national football team and made five international appearances during his time at FC Zurich.

Brodmann played at the Soccer World Cup 1966 on July 19 at Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield in the third game of group 2 Argentina - Switzerland 2-0 (0-0).

After his playing career, he was first coach at FC Zurich in 1967 and then at FC St. Gallen in the 1967/1968 season .
