René Dörfel

René Dörfel (born August 7, 1969 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The defender Dörfel began his career at Traktor Haldensleben . He came to Motor Schönebeck through 1. FC Magdeburg and in 1990 moved to the then top division Arminia Bielefeld . With the Arminia he qualified in 1994 for the newly created Regionalliga West / Südwest and one year later he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1996 Dörfel rose to the Bundesliga with Arminia . He played a total of 115 games for Arminia, eight of them in the 2nd Bundesliga, and scored six goals.

In 1996 he moved to the regional division FC Hessen Kassel . After the club went bankrupt , Dörfel moved to Kickers Emden , where he played until 2004. This was followed by one season each at FC Norden and TuS Pewsum , where he ended his playing career in 2006. René Dörfel is currently the head coach of the East Frisian League at the Turnerbund Twixlum.
