René Møller (born February 15, 1946 in Sorø ; † August 23, 1994 ) was a Danish football player .

Career

René Møller was born in February 1946 in Sorø , Denmark . He started his career in 1964 at Randers Sports Club Freja . In December 1967 Møller moved to Heart of Midlothian in Scotland . He made his debut for Hearts on February 10, 1968 against FC Aberdeen . With the Hearts he reached the Scottish Cup final in 1968 which was lost to Dunfermline Athletic . After a total of 53 league games and 12 hits, he left the club at the end of the season 1969/70 and moved back to Denmark.

National team

René Møller played for the U-21 and senior national teams of Denmark in 1966 and 1967 . On September 17, 1966, the striker made his U-21 debut against Finland . Møller scored the 4-0 final score. Just four days later he also made his debut in the senior national team in the European Championship qualifier for the upcoming European Championship in 1968 against Hungary in Budapest. In his second international match against Israel in October 1966 , Møller was able to score his first and last goal in the A-Elf jersey. The last international game Møller completed on June 4, 1967 against the national team of the GDR in Copenhagen.
