René Schick Gutiérrez
René Schick Gutiérrez (* 1909 in Managua , Nicaragua ; † August 3, 1966 ibid) was a Nicaraguan politician of the Partido Liberal and president of the country from 1963 to 1966.
Before his election as President of Nicaragua, he served the Somoza regime from 1961 to 1962 as foreign minister and was also private secretary Anastasio Somoza Garcías . Although he was considered the governor of Somoza, he managed to mitigate the domestic political repression in the country. He offered his country to the United States to station missiles aimed at Cuba. René Schick Gutiérrez died in office in August 1966.
