Renaissance Island is an approximately 48 hectare, privately used, narrow and approximately 3.8 kilometers long island off the coast of the main island of Aruba .
Location and use
The island is right next to the RWY 11 runway at Queen Beatrix International Airport . It was bought by the owners of a five-star hotel. A restaurant, beach bars, a spa center , a volleyball court as well as water sports and bathing facilities were built on the two U-shaped sandy bays on the island. The hotel guests are transferred with the hotel's own ferry. The wastewater from the hotel complex is taken by ship to the WEB sewage treatment plant on the main island for disposal .
