The Cindere Dam (in Turkish : Cindere Barajı ) is located 40 km north of the provincial capital Denizli in the western Turkish province of the same name on the Great Meander .
The Cindere Dam is 15 km below the Adıgüzel Dam . The district town of Güney is north of the dam. The dam was built in the years 2002-2009 on behalf of the state water authority DSİ for energy generation and irrigation . The barrier structure is a gravity dam made of rolled concrete ( RCC dam ). A rolled concrete with a lower cement content (70 kg / m³) was used. A PVC layer and precast concrete parts were used as a seal. The dam is 78 m high (above the valley floor) and has a volume of 4.3 million m³. The crown length is 280 m, the crown width 10 m. The associated reservoir extends over a length of 9 km and has a water surface of 2.8 km² and a storage volume of 82 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 4600 ha. The hydroelectric power station of the Cindere dam has three Francis turbines with an output of 8.5 megawatts each and a Francis turbine with 4.5 MW. The standard work capacity is 88 GWh per year.
