The Adıgüzel Dam ( Turkish Adıgüzel Barajı ) is located 40 km north of the provincial capital Denizli in the western Turkish province of the same name on the Great Meander .
The Adıgüzel Dam was built between 1976 and 1990 as a rock embankment dam with a clay core below the confluence of the Banaz Çayı in the Great Meander. It was built on behalf of the state water authority DSİ for energy generation , drainage regulation and irrigation . The dam is 144 m high and has a volume of 7.125 million m³. The associated reservoir extends over the provinces of Denizli and Uşak . It has a water surface of 26 km² and a storage volume of 1076 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 78,060 hectares. The Adıgüzel dam has two Francis turbines with an output of 31 megawatts each . The standard work capacity is 280 GWh per year. About 15 km downstream is the smaller Cindere dam .
