Renate Römer

Renate Römer (born February 22, 1955 in Vienna ) was Vice President of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and chairwoman of the General Accident Insurance Fund (AUVA).

Life

After graduating from high school, she graduated from hotel management school and passed the concession test for the goods industry. A company for special and tank transports was founded in 1978. The tank cleaning division was added in 1986. After a large number of functions in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce , including as chairman of the Transport and Traffic division, she moved to the Presidium of the Austrian Economic Chamber in 2004 as Vice-President of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. From this position, KommR Römer took on board functions in the social insurance sector. Subsequently, Römer was deputy chairman in the pension insurance company from 2006 to 2008. In 2009 he was appointed to the top of the General Accident Insurance Institution . This was the first time that a woman assumed this role. Ms. Römer's handling of AUVA funds was the subject of media reports several times. Since her resignation as AUVA chairwoman at the end of 2014, she has been the special representative of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce for the professional championships. Renate Römer has a son and lives in Vienna.
