Renault Algérie Production is a joint venture of the Renault group for the assembly and production of automobiles in Algeria .

history

After CARAL , this is the French brand's second attempt to produce vehicles in this market. The company, founded in 2013, is based in Oued Tlelat (near Oran ) and started work in 2014.

51% of the plant is owned by the Algerian state and 49% by Renault. The Algerian share is divided between the Société nationale des véhicules industriels (36%) and the Fonds national d'investissement algérien (15%). At the same time, Renault received a three-year production monopoly for Algeria, which is seen as the second largest market in Africa.

At the end of 2016, 800 people were employed in this company.

Models

The Renault Symbol , which is intended for the North African markets, is produced from the start. The Dacia Sandero has also been in production since 2016 .

A third model has been announced for 2017.
