Racing skewer
The racing skewer , also called Störtzer , was a stabbing weapon or thrust weapon of the Middle Ages , depending on its use .
It was a 3 to 5 m long, smooth lance with a long, leaf-shaped tip . The wooden shaft was mostly painted in the colors of the warlord, in tournaments in those of the knight .
The racing spear was one of the weapons of medieval knights and was not thrown, but served as a thrust and thrust weapon. In tournaments, the racing skewer with a blunt tip ( crowning ) was used for jostling , with a sharp tip for sharp races and to pick up a ring from the ground or from a pole ( ring piercing ).
