Republica is an English musical group from the 1990s. It was founded in 1994. Successful singles were "Ready To Go" and "Drop Dead Gorgeous".
Career
Republica combined hard guitar riffs with driving electronic beats to create a mixture of crossover and dance . In 1996 the single “Ready to go” reached high placements in the English and international music charts , and the following single “Drop Dead Gorgeous” from the album “Republica” was also very successful. After that, it took two years for the next album, Speed Ballads, to be released, which was a commercial flop. In 2003 “Ready to go - Best of” was released, which brought together the titles of the first two albums on one CD.
From 2010 the group gave more concerts, in March 2013 the EP "Christiana Obey" and a video of the same name were released.
"Ready to go" is played today before the New York Rangers games and was featured on the soundtrack of " Sugar & Spice ". The song "Holly" was used in the science fiction film "Cyberspace - A nightmare comes true", the track "Drop Dead Gorgeous" in the soundtrack of "Scream".
