Republic University Hospital Vilnius
The Vilnius Republic University Hospital ( lit. VšĮ Respublikinė Vilniaus universitetinė ligoninė ) is a hospital in Vilnius , the capital of Lithuania . According to its legal form , it is Viešoji įstaiga , 'public institution'. There are 1,529 employees, including 329 doctors and 539 nurses; including 30 medical doctors and 4 qualified doctors. In 2011 over 30,000 patients were treated, 18,000 operations performed and 121,000 outpatient consultations given.
history
On October 11, 1991 the Viešoji įstaiga "Vilniaus greitosios pagalbos universitetinė ligoninė" was opened. On June 6, 2011 it was renamed Viešoji įstaiga "Respublikinė Vilniaus universitetinė ligoninė". The founder is the Ministry of Health of Lithuania . There are 5 centers of the Vilniaus universitetas at the hospital : Center for Neuroangiosurgery , Center for Anaesthesiology - Reanimatology and Critical Conditions, Center for General Surgery , Center for Orthopedics and Traumatology and the Center for Toxicology .
