Reserve division

Reserve divisions are initially to strengthen the army or army certain divisions that from the ranks of the reserve (formerly also the Landwehr are) formed.

In the German Empire there was a second type of reserve divisions. They consisted of ships and vehicles within the Navy , which were set as the so-called First Reserve . Only one ship of these reserve divisions received the full crew strength. It was intended to keep the other ships belonging to the reserve division in combat-ready condition.
