Reserve list

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reserve lists are the result of competitions organized by international organizations for obtaining permanent employment.

The reserve list is only a preselection. There is no guarantee that successful candidates will actually be offered a position. However, since most reserve lists are valid for several years, this should be the case for most applicants.

European Union

For most of the institutions of the European Union or the European Communities , the European Personnel Selection Office organizes so-called concours . Almost without exception, access to the European public service is only possible through such competitions and the reserve list .

The first competitions for citizens of the ten new member states of the European Union were held at the end of 2003. The institutions were able to recruit the first applicants from these countries shortly after joining on May 1, 2004.

United Nations

Selection competitions are also held for entry-level positions in the higher service for permanent employment at the United Nations . As with ESPO, the successful participants will be placed on a reserve list.
