Axim X30

Axim refers to a product line of Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) or Pocket PCs that was sold by Dell .

With the Axim, Dell made its first appearance on the PDA market in 2002 and was able to take a strong position on the market mainly due to the comparatively low prices. The first model in the Axim series was the Axim X5, followed by the X3, which was available as the X3i in a high-end version with WLAN functionality. In 2004, Dell introduced the successor to the X3 with the X30 and, analogously, the X50 replaced the X5. The models could each be bought in a variety of different configurations, but as is usual with Dell, only directly on the Dell homepage or on their hotline.

Microsoft Windows Mobile was used as the operating system for all models in the Axim series ; the X30 was the first PDA on the market to use the newer Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003SE. Starting with the X51 series, Dell used Windows Mobile 5 as the operating system for its handhelds.

The product line was discontinued in the first quarter of 2007.
