UN Security Council Resolution 904

The Resolution 904 of the UN Security , adopted on 18 March 1994, expressed the shock of the massacre that the Israeli settlers Baruch Goldstein on Palestinians in Hebron had done. The Security Council called for measures to guarantee the protection and security of the Palestinians in the territories occupied by Israel .

The Security Council noted with satisfaction that measures had been taken to ensure the smooth progress of the peace process and that the international community had condemned the incident. Furthermore, the validity of the Fourth Geneva Convention and Israel's responsibility for it was emphasized.

The Security Council condemned the Hebron incident, which resulted in the injuries to hundreds of civilians, and called on Israel to confiscate weapons to prevent further violence by settlers.
